BRETZVILLE — Police say a deer was deceased at the scene after it ran into the path of a pickup truck Tuesday morning west of the Bretzville Junction.
Mark R. Fink, 33, Huntingburg, was eastbound on State Road 64 in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when the 6:08 p.m. accident occurred 1,200 feet west of State Road 162, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Fink’s truck struck the deer, which had entered onto the travel portion of the highway from the south.
Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
