Deer collides with Buick SUV

JASPER — No injuries were reported after an deer-versus-SUV collision early Saturday west of Jasper.

Deborah E. Hopf, 46, Duff, was northbound on County Road 600W in a 2008 Buick Enclave when the 12:30 a.m. accident occurred 800 feet south of Division Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

Hopf was coming down a hill in a wooded area when a deer ran in front of her SUV, according to a deputy.

Damage from the resulting collision was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500 but the SUV was able to be driven from the scene.
