Daylight saving time starts Sunday

From Local Sources

Daylight saving time will begin Sunday. The local time will shift forward one hour — from 2 to 3 a.m., for instance.

While changing timepieces, some people also check and change batteries in household items like carbon monoxide and smoke alarms.

The time change means that sunrise will happen shortly after 8 a.m. with sunset at nearly 8 p.m.

Daylight saving time lasts until Sunday, Nov. 1, when clocks will then be pushed back one hour.
