Damian Arnold wins Holland spelling bee

HOLLAND — Holland Elementary held its annual school spelling bee on Thursday, Jan. 7. The winner was fifth-grader Damian Arnold. He is the son of Greg and Amiee Arnold. His homeroom teacher is Heather Schmitz.
Runner-up was third-grader Isabel Rogge. She is the daughter of Josh Rogge and Jolene Rogge. Her homeroom teacher is Breanne Rainey.
Other Participants were Alivia Elshoff, Henry Heile, Kaydence Hobert, Anderson Elshoff, Jack Keusch, Samuel Mehringer, Brayden Wilz and Phoebe Hollinden.
Damian will participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee Online Test and may advance to the Evansville Area Regional Spelling Bee. Pronouncer for the Holland bee was Janet Bradley. Judges were Kelly Murphy and Katelynn Buening.
