Damage reported after Indiana Street wreckJuly 20, 2018
From Local Sources
JASPER — A collision on Indiana Street this morning slightly injured a Loogootee man, though he did not seek medical treatment.
Sean Lyons, 35, of Loogootee, had an abrasion on his hand when the airbag in his 2015 GMC Terrain deployed in the 6:30 a.m. accident.
Evan Howell, 24, of Shoals, was driving his 2003 Ford F150 north on Indiana Street at 6:30 a.m. and attempted to turn left into the parking lot of Shoney’s restaurant, city police reported. Howell did not see Lyons heading south on the street in his Terrain, police said. Howell turned and his truck’s front end hit the front end of Lyons’ vehicle. The airbags deployed in both vehicles.
Police reported that there was severe damage to the front end of both vehicles, but did not give a cost estimate. Howell was cited for failure to yield.
