Damage limited in collision with deer

DUBOIS — Police said the damage was limited in a Thursday morning vehicle-versus-deer collision southeast of Dubois.

Myron J. DeKemper, 62, Dubois, was eastbound on State Road 545 in a 2011 Honda Ridgeline when the 7:50 a.m. accident occurred west of County Road 720E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

Several deer entered onto the roadway and the DeKemper truck’s right front struck one of them, according to the sheriff’s office.

Damage was estimated at less than $1,000 and DeKemper was able to drive from the scene. The deer continued on from the scene, as well.
