Damage in car-vs-van mishap totals $7K

JASPER — Total damage reached $7,000 in a passenger car-versus-minivan collision Tuesday afternoon at Fourth and Mill streets.
Rachel Lampert, 37, Jasper, was northbound on Mill Street in a 2014 Toyota Sienna at the time of the 12:16 p.m. mishap, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Police said the Lampert Toyota collided with a 2012 Dodge Caliber that was exiting a private parking lot between Fourth and Fifth streets.
John Rudy, 74, Dale, failed to see the northbound Toyota, according to police.
Damage was estimated at $4,500 to the Rudy Dodge and $2,500 to the Lampert Toyota.
An officer cited Rudy for unsafe lane movement.
Neither driver was injured.
