CELESTINE — Police say damage hit $5,000 in a pickup truck-versus-deer collision Tuesday morning west of Celestine.
Steven J. Kuper, 67, Celestine, was westbound on State Road 164 in a 2018 Ford F-150 when the 6:50 a.m. accident occurred 100 feet east of County Road 500E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said the Kuper Ford struck a deer that came onto the roadway from the north.
The collision proved fatal to the deer.
Kuper was able to drive from the scene.
