DALE — A Dale woman was formally charged last week with a misdemeanor driving offense following an incident that occurred in early April.
A Spencer County Sheriff’s Office deputy made contact with Eloisa Lopez Chavez, 35, 308 W. Willow St., Dale, in the early morning hours April 3 after observing her drive a 2012 Dodge Caravan into an abandoned gas station lot of Old U.S. 231 in Dale and black out the vehicle’s lights.
Police said a records check determined Lopez Chavez had never received a driver’s license. She was released on her own recognizance at the time of the incident but was told she would be receiving a court date.
Authorities formally charged Lopez Chavez with a misdemeanor count of driving while having never been licensed last week in Spencer Circuit Court.
