Every day after school, the Seger and Fischer cousins spend time at their grandparents’ farm in Celestine. Cousins Carter Seger, 4, left, Leo Seger, 5, Jaxon Seger, 6, Taylor Fischer, 9, and Lauren Seger, 7, all of Celestine, petted and bottle fed a 4-week-old Black Angus calf named Ralph at Kenny and Sharon Seger’s farm in Celestine on Thursday afternoon. “He’s a loving cow because he’s not scared of us,” said Taylor, who dreams of becoming a fourth-generation farmer. Since Ralph’s mother died giving birth, the young bull receives a gallon of milk replacer via bottle twice daily.
