From Local Sources
HAYSVILLE — A motorist avoided injury Wednesday in a single-vehicle accident in a curve on a stretch of highway east of Haysville.
Jeanne G. Weisman, 68, Haysville, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2015 Ford F-150 when the 11:50 a.m. accident occurred east of County Road 175E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Weisman lost control of the truck in a curve on wet pavement. She over-corrected, sending the Ford across the centerline and off the north side of the highway.
The truck traveled down a slight embankment, striking small trees and a large rock before stopping facing south.
Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
A Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker assisted.
