Crop marketing, farm finance workshop set

The regional Purdue Crop Marketing and Farm Finance Workshop will be held at the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds Clover Pavilion from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 6.

The workshop provides farmers an opportunity to improve both crop marketing and financial management skill sets with two 90-minute sessions plus meal.

“Improving Your Crop Marketing Skills” will focus on learning about grain storage facilities, local grain basis patterns, and how people can take advantage of that knowledge to improve grain profits for their farm and reduce risk.

“Preparing to Meet with Your Ag Lender” will teach how to use budgets to evaluate long-term enterprise profitability, and whole-farm financial projections to evaluate profitability and repayments for the upcoming year.
