January 20, 2021By Herald Staff
JASPER — The Dubois County Health Department, in collaboration with the Indiana State Department of Health, will host on Saturday a districtwide mass vaccination clinic to administer 1,200 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The clinic will be from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Jasper Middle School, 3600 Portersville Road, Jasper. You are asked to use the north side parking lot behind the school (follow the signs). The second dose of the vaccine will be given Feb. 20 at the same location.
This one-day event is for any eligible individual looking for an appointment or anyone looking to receive the vaccination sooner than a future appointment already scheduled. According to ISDH, those who are currently eligible are: health care personnel, long-term care residents, first responders, and Hoosiers who are 70 and older.
The only way to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is by scheduling an appointment at www.ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211 for those individuals who do not have internet access. Choose "Dubois Co. HD Jasper Middle Sch VAX" clinic site for this one-day event.
Please arrive as close to your scheduled appointment time as possible to keep the clinic running on time and to help maintain social distancing requirements.
