Couple accused of shoplifting at Walmart Supercenter

From Local Sources

JASPER — Police say preliminary misdemeanor counts of theft followed a Saturday evening report that a man and a woman were shoplifting at the Walmart Supercenter.

The Jasper Police Department was called to the store at 6:35 p.m. after asset protection staff alleged Joshua T. Rush, 36, and Robin A. Rush, 25, both of Shoals, did not scan most of the items in their cart at a self-checkout station before going into a restaurant area inside the store.

Police report the value of the unscanned items at $420.98.

Mr. Rush was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center at 7:55 p.m. Mrs. Rush, who was pregnant and who had an infant with her, was released after being given a ticket citing her into court at a later date to answer to a preliminary misdemeanor theft charge.
