Coupe damaged in collision with deer

JASPER — No wrecker was needed after a coupe collided with a deer Tuesday just east of Jasper.
Steven J. Polen, 50, Jasper, was westbound on State Road 164 in a 2006 Mazda RX8 when the 6:41 a.m. accident occurred east of Jasper-Dubois Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said the front center of the Polen RX8 collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the south.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
