The Indiana State Department of Health reported two new COVID-19 cases in Dubois County on Thursday.
The state health department has recorded a total of 6,232 positive cases in the county since the pandemic began, and 118 deaths related to the virus. A total of 21,297 county residents have been tested.
See the ISDH COVID-19 Dashboard at https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/2393.htm, which is updated every day at noon.
ISDH reported Thursday 463 new cases across the state, bringing the statewide total to 756,625 cases. A total of 13,482 Hoosiers have died from the virus. Another 427 probable deaths have been reported.
The Dubois/Spencer/Martin County COVID-19 testing site at the former Ruxer Golf Course building in Jasper has closed as of July 8, due to a lack of funding.
The state-funded COVID-19 testing site grant that provided this free service to Dubois, Spencer and Martin county residents expired June 30. The second round of funding for the site was due to arrive on July 1, but has not yet been allocated. Until a new contract is signed, the testing site will remain closed.
If you have questions, you can contact the Dubois County Health Department at 812-481-7050.
Other options for COVID-19 testing are:
• Memorial Hospital Emergency Department (800 W. Ninth St., Jasper): Patient is evaluated by a provider, who determines testing and treatment. Open 24 hours a day.
• CVS (multiple locations): Tests anyone with or without symptoms. Availability based on locations. Schedule an appointment through https://cvs.com.
