JASPER — The Dubois County Health Department reported today eight new positive COVID-19 cases and another death related to the virus.
The total number of deaths remains at 11, the same as before, after investigation into a previously counted person concluded that COVID-19 was not listed as the cause of death.
Of the county’s 587 cases, 340 have recovered and 11 deaths have been reported. A total of 4,712 Dubois County residents have been tested.
According to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s COVID-19 Dashboard, the Jasper hospital has submitted 3,073 tests. Of those, 2,716 were negative. The hospital notes that a patient’s address will determine what county reports the positive case.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported Wednesday 630 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 64,299 cases. A total of 2,733 Hoosiers have died from the virus and another 199 probable deaths have been reported.
