County reports 44 new COVID-19 cases

JASPER — The Dubois County Health Department reported today 44 new positive COVID-19 cases.
This case count is cumulative and includes those confirmed over the course of the weekend. The department had not shared a case update since Friday.
The case breakdown is as follows: 15 cases on Saturday, 21 cases on Sunday and eight cases today.
Of the county’s 558 cases, 314 have recovered and 11 deaths have been reported. A total of 4,546 Dubois County residents have been tested.
According to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s COVID-19 Dashboard, the Jasper hospital has submitted 2,858 tests. Of those, 2,524 were negative. The hospital notes that a patient’s address will determine what county reports the positive case.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported Sunday 860 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 62,372 cases. A total of 2,706 Hoosiers have died from the virus and another 197 probable deaths have been reported.
