County reports 18 new positive COVID-19 casesAugust 17, 2020

JASPER — The Dubois County Health Department reported today 18 new positive COVID-19 cases.
This case count is cumulative of cases reported over the weekend. The daily breakdown is as follows: 11 on Saturday, two on Sunday and five on Monday.
Of the county’s 747 cases, 542 have recovered and 13 deaths have been reported. A total of 5,782 Dubois County residents have been tested.
According to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s COVID-19 Dashboard, the Jasper hospital has submitted 3,900 tests. Of those, 3,462 were negative. The hospital notes that a patient’s address will determine what county reports the positive case.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported today 603 new cases, an increase of six from the previous day. That brings the statewide total to 81,006 cases. A total of 2,926 Hoosiers have died from the virus, an increase of three over the weekend. Another 209 probable deaths have been reported. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.
