County COVID-19 case count remains at 16

JASPER — Dubois County’s COVID-19 case count remains at 16, according to the Dubois County Health Department.
The department announced the county’s 15th and 16th cases on Saturday, in addition to announcing that some of its employees have tested positive.
The department advises that if you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your health care provider or the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center Alternative Screening Site at 812-996-6330. Hours of operation include Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“The decisions we make now will not only impact us all tomorrow but for the weeks to come,” states a county health department press release. “Stay home. Practice social distancing and good hand hygiene.”
According to Memorial Hospital and Heatlh Care Center’s COVID-19 Dashboard, the Jasper hospital has submitted 251 tests. Of those, 223 were negative and seven are pending. The hospital notes that a patient’s address will determine what county reports the positive case.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported Sunday 577 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 11,210. A total of 562 Hoosiers have died from the virus.
