Conversations continue on nuisance ordinance
September 24, 2020By Herald Staff
JASPER — The Jasper Common Council again discussed possible changes to the city’s public nuisance ordinance at its meeting on Wednesday evening.
The language addresses common law and nuisances, cisterns and vaults, property maintenance, as well as swimming pools, hot tubs and spas. The current schedule includes the goal of final adoption at either the October or November Council meeting.
Any new language is not intended to be implemented until January 2021. A full draft of the ordinance can be found on the city of Jasper’s Facebook page and under the "Recent News" tab at jasperindiana.gov/council.
Those with questions or comments are encouraged to contact Renee Kabrick at Jasper City Hall before the group’s next meeting. The Jasper Common Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at City Hall, 610 Main St.
