JASPER — A Monday night complaint from a business about a possible intoxicated driver leaving their establishment resulted in an impaired driving arrest.
The Jasper Police Department received the call at 9:52 p.m. and began looking for the gray, two-door passenger car with a female driver.
Police say an officer observed such a car, a 2006 Pontiac G6, run a red light while eastbound at 15th and Newton streets. During a traffic stop at 15th and Mill streets, police said, the driver, Crystal A. Freeman, 34, 2492 Terry Lane, Jasper, had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person and exhibited signs of impairment.
After failing field sobriety testing, Freeman was taken to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center where her blood alcohol content tested .15%, according to police.
Authorities booked Freeman into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:27 a.m. today on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated (BAC .15% or over) and operating while intoxicated (endangerment).
