After an extremely successful career at Jasper that saw him next 66 total goals and 28 assists, Tyler Hunt will be playing soccer in college along with several other players with southern Indiana ties at Kentucky Wesleyan College.

A Q&A with Jasper senior soccer player Tyler Hunt who will be playing collegiately at Kentucky Wesleyan College.

What was the biggest factor into your decision to play soccer collegiately? It's been a dream since I was a kid so I've really worked hard to try and get to that point. It's just nice to see it all unfold.

What stood out about Kentucky Wesleyant over other schools you visited? I visited a few colleges but Kentucky Wesleyan seemed like the best fit for me. It was small, everyone was close — a lot of players I've played with in the past, guys I played travel with signed there last year. They told me it was a really nice program and they're getting some good recruits this year, too. The program is definitely on its way up.

During your time at Jasper, who or what do you feel most prepared you to play soccer in college? Kyle Kendall — he was a mentor toward me from freshman year all the way to senior year. He's the one who really helped develop my leadership skills throughout all four seasons.

What was your biggest accomplishment during your career at Jasper? Definitely our win against No. 6 ranked Lake Central — that was a really big win, there's no way we could have gotten that win without everybody being in and the team being so close to one another.

If you could describe your high school athletic experience in one word, what would it be? Phenomenal.
