Class reunions have been planned for past area graduates.
Jasper High School
The Class of 1948 will celebrate its 70th class reunion at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, with lunch at the Schnitzelbank. Call Gin Messmer at 812-634-1414 by Monday, Aug. 27, to make reservations.
The Class of 1950 will hold its 50th reunion Saturday, Oct. 20. If you have not been reached, contact Margaret Wente at email@example.com.
The Class of 1961 will hold a reunion Friday, Sept. 21, at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant. All class members and their guests are invited to attend. A gathering will begin at 4 p.m., with dinner served at 5 p.m. Dinner and drinks will be off the menu at classmates’ expense. No invitations will be sent and no reservations are required, however, if planning to attend, text or call Alice at 812-630-3038 or Virginia at 812-482-6807 by Monday, Sept. 17.
The Class of 1973 will hold its 45th class reunion Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Jasper. The event will start at 6 p.m. with cocktails and social time. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., and a DJ will provide music from the ’60s and ’70s at 8 p.m. Class members who did not receive a mailed invitation can call 812-536-2072 for more information.
Forest Park High School
The Class of 1978 will hold its 40th reunion during Labor Day weekend. Classmates are invited to join friends for a laid-back evening featuring a meal, memories and laughs. The reunion will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Ferdinand Legion. The meal will be served at 7 p.m. Reservations are being accepted at $25 per couple or $15 per person. The price of the meal includes two adult drink tickets, with a cash bar available after. Entertainment will be provided by Leo Gronquist. Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening. All class members are asked to encourage other classmates to attend. Committee members for the reunion are Beth (Becher) Bumm, Bobby Durlauf, Karen (Buechler) Mehling, Brenda “Dall” Stetter, Sue (Oser)Fink, Charlene (Gehlhausen) Fleck, Bill and Janice (Englert) Potter, Scott Uebelhor and Lee Wilmes An anonymous donor has contributed to the reunion.
The Class of 1988 will hold its 30th reunion on Saturday, Sept. 29. Classmates and their significant others are invited to join friends for a laid-back evening of memories and laughs. The reunion will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Keith and Dana Bachman’s home, 3885 Eagle Point Court, Jasper. Arnie’s will be catering a full meal which will be served at 6:30 p.m. Desserts and non-alcoholic drinks will also be provided. Reservations are being accepted at $20 per person.
