From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Common Council approved Friday afternoon a $108,000 contract with Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group of Indianapolis to update the city’s comprehensive plan. The agency will also consolidate and update the city’s subdivision and zoning ordinances into one unified development ordinance.

Information is currently being gathered and work on the updates will start soon, Mayor Denny Spinner said. The project is expected take no more than 18 months to complete and will include various public meetings and opportunities for public input, he said.

Council members also approved paying the city’s monthly expenses, which includes bills and staff salaried. They were not able to take care of those matters at their Tuesday evening meeting because they did have a majority of the council present.
