JASPER — A citizen’s tip about unsafe driving led to an impaired driving arrest Monday night.
The Jasper Police Department received a tip at 10:01 p.m. about a car swerving and driving in the wrong lane of travel. Police located the 2003 Toyota Corolla parked in the middle of the roadway with its four-way flashers activated in the 200 block of St. Charles Street.
The man behind the wheel, Eduardo G. Garcia, 33, 4176 Baden Strasse, was under the influence of alcohol, according to police who said Garcia’s blood alcohol content tested .229% after a blood draw at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Authorities booked Garcia into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:12 a.m. Tuesday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and operator never licensed. He posted bond Tuesday afternoon.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
