Chamber of Commerce sets annual meetingSeptember 5, 2018
JASPER — The Jasper Chamber of Commerce has announced that its annual meeting will be held as a luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 17. at KlubHaus 61, 2031 Newton St.
The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the meeting, presentations and keynote speaker.
The Jasper Chamber of Commerce is comprised of 16 board members and two staff positions.
During the luncheon, outgoing Chamber Board President Brian Hostetter will recognize board members and other officers who served during the 2018 term. Hostetter also will make the presentation of the annual President’s Community Excellence Award. This award is given annually to an individual in the community who has given of him or herself in a variety of ways in order to “make a difference.” The award is always a surprise to the recipient.
The board of directors for 2018 also included Tom Moorman, vice president; Diann Meneilly-Horney, secretary; Mark Fierst, treasurer; and Julie Dutchess, Anthony Seng, Tim Gray, Dr. Tim Barry, Opal Sermersheim, Mark Fierst, Angie Kleinhelter, Sheri Keller, Rachel Levin, Cody Ziegler, Bernie Kreilein and Chrisitan Blome. In addition to the board of directors, the chamber has two staff positions. These are held by Nancy Eckerle, executive director, and Janet Beckman, office manager.
New board members for 2019 will be announced during the annual meeting luncheon.
NSWC Crane Commanding Officer Captain Mark Oesterreich will be the keynote speaker will talk about how NSWC Crane is harnessing the power of technology.
Captain Oesterreich assumed command of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, in July 2017. A native of South Holland, Illinois, Captain Oesterreich received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in May 1991, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in naval architecture. Following receipt of submarine qualification, he attended the Naval Postgraduate School earning a Master of Science degree and professional engineer’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Tickets for the annual chamber meeting are priced at $30 each or tables of eight for $220.
