Challenger damaged in car-vs-deer collision

CELESTINE — A motorist escaped injury when his car collided with a deer Monday west of Celestine.
Jaydon Arnold, 21, Celestine, was westbound on State Road 164 in a 2009 Dodge Challenger when the 5:43 a.m. accident occurred near County Road 400E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy who was unable to locate the deer was told it got up and ran off after coming onto the highway and being struck by the Arnold Dodge.
Damage to the car’s bumper and right front was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
