Cemetery prayer services planned

Historic St. Boniface Parish in Fulda and St. Meinrad Parish in St. Meinrad will hold cemetery prayer services.

The prayer service at St. Boniface Cemetery will begin at 5:15 p.m. CT Thursday, Oct. 31, following the 4:30 p.m. CT Mass (Vigil Mass for All Saints’ Day). Afterward, a soup and salad supper will be held in the parish center at 5:30 p.m. CT. Groups of eight or more are asked to make reservations by calling the parish office at 812-357-5533.

At St. Meinrad Cemetery, the cemetery prayer service will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 2, following the 8:30 a.m. All Souls’ Day Mass at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.

At each service, parishioners, friends and neighbors who have lost loved ones are invited to meet at the cemetery crucifix for the service. Afterward, the clergy members will visit individual gravesites for those families who wish to participate.

Families who have lost a loved one during the past year will receive a commemorative candle. To take part, attend the prayer service at the cemetery where the burial took place.
