Celestine-area deer-vs-car accident reported

CELESTINE — No injuries were reported in a deer-versus-passenger car collision Friday morning along a county road southwest of Celestine.

Lydia G. Burke, 18, St. Anthony, was northbound on County Road 400E in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruz when the 7:20 a.m. accident occurred south of State Road 164, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy said the right front of Burke’s car struck a deer that entered onto the roadway.

The deputy reported he was unable to locate the deer.

Damage to Burke’s car was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.

The car was able to be driven from the scene.
