CELESTINE — A Hamilton County woman suffered injury when she was ejected from the motorcycle she was riding Saturday afternoon east of Celestine.
Charlene L. Cummings, 61, Noblesville, was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on State Road 164 when the 3 p.m. accident occurred 200 feet west of County Road 1025E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Cummings slowed to turn into a private drive, and her motorcycle was rear-ended by a 2016 Harley Davidson ridden by William L. Cummings, 52, Noblesville.
The impact caused Charlene Cummings’ motorcycle to lay over on its side, ejecting Charlene onto the roadway.
St. Vincent StatFlight was requested, with State Road 164 closed for 15 minutes for safety precautions as the injured rider was airlifted from the scene to St. Vincent Evansville. Information on her current condition was not immediately available.
The Celestine Volunteer Fire Department, a Berg’s Garage wrecker and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted.
