JASPER — A Celebration of Life service will be held today in Jasper for the French Lick man injured in a Nov. 27 workplace incident at the Styline Diesel Service Center in Huntingburg.
John D. Deel, 54, French Lick, passed away Monday at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis.
Authorities called to assist an injured employee at the 212 W. Sixth St. shop in Huntingburg on Nov. 27 indicated a service pit was being cleaned when something apparently ignited fumes that had built up from a solvent-based cleaner.
According to his obituary, Deel was a 1982 graduate of Springs Valley High School and a member of Redemption Christian Church in Jasper. His survivors include a wife, two sons, his mother and two brothers.
His Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at Redemption Church in Jasper.
Burial will be at a later date in the Crystal Community Cemetery.
