Celebrating 103 Years

Brookside Village resident Ida Maffenbeier, left, cuts the first slice of cake with her daughter, Pat Evans of Santa Claus, during Ida’s 103rd birthday celebration at the senior living community in Jasper on Saturday. Ida’s son, Mike Maffenbeier of Jasper, said his mother has always said “it’s not about the age. It’s just a number.” Ida celebrated her birthday alongside family and friends with the playing of a favorite hymn and cake.
