Catherine “Kate” Davis, 82, of Oakland City, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society-Northwood in Jasper.
She was born October 21, 1936, in Evansville to the late Andrew and Esther (Sickman) Melton and had lived in the Oakland City area most of her lifetime.
She was a lifetime member of Friendship General Baptist Church in Oakland City.
Kate is survived by her three siblings, Carol Wirth of Seymour, Richard Melton (Sandy) of Francisco and Linda Brace (Jim) of Jasper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Fleenor; and a special friend, Arnold Davis.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Friendship General Baptist Church, 237 S 1050 E, Oakland City, with Dr. Bob Doane officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. All times listed are Central Standard Time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship General Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church or may be mailed.
