The Heritage Hills girls basketball team had a bad taste in their mouth after dropping their Tuesday night game against Jasper. The Patriots (7-3, 3-0) felt that the best remedy would be to get back in the win column, and they used that urgency to fuel a 57-40 win over the Forest Park Rangers (5-4, 2-3).
Heritage Hills held a comfortable lead Tuesday night against Evansville Bosse, but coach Nate Hawkins wanted point guard Simon Scherry to make an adjustment during the game after the team took an ill-advised shot.
Another local student-athlete realized their dreams to play their sport at the collegiate level as Forest Park senior Kylie Gielser signed her letter of intent to play volleyball at Vincennes University on Wednesday.
Jasper played host to Forest Park, with the Wildcats (1-1) picking up a 64-15 win against the Rangers (0-2). However, the final score of the dual does not tell the whole story. It doesn’t indicate how competitive some of those matches were.
