Excise police arrested a Jasper restaurant server on Wednesday and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man and accused him of possessing a device designed to defeat a drug or alcohol screen.
Seat-belt use was credited with lessening the severity of injuries in a three-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon just west of Jasper that shut down State Road 56 for about an hour. Police also arrested three people for alleged impaired driving during the weekend.

Total damage reached $7,000 in an SUV-versus-pickup truck collision Thursday afternoon in Jasper, and Dubois County authorities brought a Vanderburgh County woman to Dubois Superior Court to answer to an active theft warrant.
