Carl Edward Neukam, 87, of Birdseye, passed away Friday evening, August 30, 2019, at his residence.
He was born August 14, 1932, in Jasper, to Charles John and Arletha (Sturgeon) Neukam; and married Helen Kathryn Whaley on August 14, 1955, in Birdseye.
Carl worked for Kimball International; was a member of Jasper V.F.W. Post #673 and Jasper American Legion Post #147; and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Murele Ahrens.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Kathryn Neukam, of Birdseye; two sons, Dennis Neukam and Daniel (Martha) Neukam, both of Birdseye; three siblings, Jim Neukam and Junior Ray (Barb) Neukam, both of Huntingburg, and Joyce Dietrich of Petersburg; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with Minister Kim Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Birdseye Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by a joint American Legion Post #147 and V.F.W. Post #673 Memorial Detail.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Thursday.
