Carefully consider candidates for governor
October 23, 2020To the editor:
Governor Eric Holcomb’s administration has been a disappointment.
He has not handled the COVID pandemic well. He shut Indiana down in March, and then he had the audacity to claim that he did not close the state down! Does this man actually believe that Hoosiers’ memories are that poor?
Holcomb instituted a mask mandate and then was caught in a photo with no mask shortly after.
But let us not dwell on Holcomb’s poor handling of the COVID pandemic. Holcomb and his party are responsible for the largest tax hike in state history – the 2017 gas tax.
Holcomb frequently points to Indiana’s low business tax rates, yet he never mentions the tax burden carried by individual Hoosier taxpayers.
Donald Rainwater is calling for an examination of all state government functions and cutting waste where it can be done. Neither Holcomb nor Democrat Dr. Woody Myers are willing to do that.
I urge you to spend some time examining the platforms of all three men running for governor this year instead of voting straight ticket. I hope you will carefully consider each candidate and after doing so, that you too will vote Donald Rainwater for Governor.
