Car-vs-truck collision damage totals $15KJune 17, 2020
From Local Sources
FERDINAND — Total damage reached $15,000 in a car-versus-truck collision Tuesday on Ferdinand’s east side.
Judith Seifrig, 68, Bristow, was pulling onto East Fifth Street from Sunrise Drive in a 2017 Chevrolet Impala at the time of the 10:30 a.m. accident, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Seifrig told police she looked both directions but could not see an oncoming, eastbound pickup truck because of an earth embankment and plant growth at the location that obstructed her view of traffic from the west.
The Seifrig Impala collided with the eastbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Patrick Snyder, 58, Ferdinand.
Police faulted Seifrig for failing to yield to oncoming traffic but no citations were issued.
No serious injuries resulted from the crash, police said. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Damage was estimated at $10,000 to the Seifrig Impala and $5,000 to the Snyder Silverado, which was driven from the scene.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker towed the Seifrig Impala.
