Car-vs-deer crash occurs west of Ferdinand

FERDINAND — A Gibson County motorist was able to drive away from the scene of a car-versus-deer accident Monday morning west of Ferdinand.

Hannah M. Taylor, 25, Oakland City, was eastbound on County Road 1000S in a 2017 Honda Civic when the 6:45 a.m. accident occurred west of Ferdinand Road Northwest, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Taylor’s Honda collided with a deer that came onto the roadway from the south.

Damage to the right front bumper area was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
