Car-vs-deer collision damages vehicle

JASPER — A wrecker was needed after a Tuesday night collision between a car and a deer in the Jasper Bottoms.

Angela S. Engelberth, 46, Jasper, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2013 Audi A5 when the 10:18 p.m. accident occurred near County Road 250S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Engelberth’s vehicle collided with a deer that ran onto the highway from the east. The deer was then struck by another vehicle, according to authorities.

Damage to Engelberth’s car was estimated to have exceeded $10,000.
