Car-vs-deer collision damages vehicle

HUNTINGBURG — A Huntingburg-area woman was able to drive her car away from a collision with a deer the night of Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Natalie L. Wells, 40, Huntingburg, was northbound on County Road 50E in a 2013 Ford Escort when the 8:48 p.m. accident occurred 500 feet south of Deer Trail Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy reported Wells’ car collided with a deer that came onto the county road from the west.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
