Car-vs-deer collision damages Civic

HUNTINGBURG — No injuries were reported in a passenger car-versus-deer collision Tuesday evening west of Huntingburg.
Jake R. Begle, 17, Ferdinand, was eastbound on County Road 700S in a 2007 Honda Civic when the 6:30 p.m. accident occurred east of State Road 161, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Begle’s car collided with a deer that came onto the county road from the south.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Begle was able to drive from the scene.
