DUBOIS — A Wednesday morning encounter with a deer knocked an Orange County man’s vehicle out of commission.
Christopher D. Land, 50, French Lick, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2012 Hyundai when the 9:10 a.m. accident occurred east of Dubois Road Northeast, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy said Land’s vehicle collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the north while he was on a State Road 56 downgrade.
Damage to the car was estimated to have exceeded $5,000.
A Bob Luegers Motors wrecker towed the car because of disabling damage, according to the sheriff’s departmen
