HUNTINGBURG — No injuries were reported after a passenger-car-versus-truck collision Tuesday morning in Huntingburg.
Richard Leistner, 68, Huntingburg, was westbound on 14th Street in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when the 7:20 a.m. accident occurred at U.S. 231, according to the Huntingburg Police Department.
Police said Leistner was crossing U.S. 231 westbound when Coby Reller, 19, Huntingburg, drove from 14th Street in a 2013 Toyota Corolla that he was attempting to turn northbound on the highway.
The Toyota struck the front driver side of Leistner’s Silverado, according to police.
Both vehicles were unable to be driven from the scene because of disabling damage.
U.S. 231’s southbound lane was shut down for about 25 minutes while the scene was cleared.
Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000 to the Reller Toyota and between $1,000 and $2,000 to the Leistner Chevrolet.
A KARS wrecker assisted.
