DUFF — A Huntingburg woman’s car required a tow after a Thursday accident southeast of Duff.
Sydney I. Ferrera, 19, Huntingburg, was southbound on Duff Road Southeast in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra when the 7:05 a.m. accident occurred west of County Road 525W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Ferrera told a deputy she swerved to miss a deer in the roadway when her car went off the east side of the road. The Elantra struck fence posts and a Frontier Communications pole that was broken by the collision. The car then went in and out of a small ditch.
Total damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
