Car sustains disabling damage at Dubois Crossroads

From Local Sources

DUBOIS — Police say an Orange County motorist’s car sustained disabling damage in a Thursday morning collision with a deer just west of the Dubois Crossroads.

Chase E. Denton, 23, French Lick, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2018 Dodge Charger when the 5:33 a.m. accident occurred 500 feet west of State Road 545 and Hickory Grove Road intersection, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy said Denton’s car collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the north.

There were no injuries but a Laroach Wrecker Service tow truck had to tow the car, which sustained between $2,500 and $5,000 in damage.
