PATOKA LAKE — A tow truck was needed when a car struck a tree on the roadway late Friday night near Patoka Lake.

Jessica R. Keeling, 28, Taswell, was eastbound on State Road 164 in a 2017 Ford Escort when the 11:58 p.m. accident occurred 500 feet east of County Road 1100E in Hall Township, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Keeling’s car struck and ran over a downed tree in the roadway. The Ford’s airbags deployed and Keeling complained of thumb pain but police say she declined medical treatment at the scene.

There was disabling damage estimated between $1,000 and $2,500 to the car, which was towed by a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker.
