FERDINAND — Damage topped $5,000 when a car ran off a Ferdinand-area roadway Wednesday night and struck a tree.
Keith A. Fritz, 42, Ferdinand, was eastbound on Convent Road in a 1986 Mercedes Benz when the 8:28 p.m. mishap occurred west of County Road 475E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Fritz’s Mercedes went off the north side of the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle went through a ditch and a field before striking a tree.
Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
