JASPER — No injuries were reported when a man’s car ran off a county road northeast of Jasper and into a cornfield Monday morning.
Curtis W. Grant, 27, Jasper, was southbound on Kellerville Road in a 2007 Chrysler 300 when the 6:42 a.m. mishap occurred 500 feet south of County Road 500N, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Grant told a deputy he had swerved to miss a raccoon that ran onto the roadway. The evasive maneuver sent the car into a ditch and then into a field.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
